In Aperio eSlide Manager, roles are used to restrict or grant users access to parts of the application, to determine to what degree they can make changes and, in conjunction with data groups, how the application looks and functions for each user. To work with roles, select Role Management from the Administrative menu.
Roles that have been defined in Aperio eSlide Manager are listed in the Roles Definition table on this page. You can perform the following tasks:
Click Add to define new roles (see Adding a New Role Definition).
Click Commands to set command permissions for a user role (see Setting Role Command Permissions).
Click Data Table Fields to set data table access and field-level editing permissions for a user role (see Setting Data Table Field Permissions).
Click Edit to edit the role name, description, and data hierarchy it is used in. You can also assign users and user groups to the user role (see Assigning Users and User Groups to Roles).
